What counts as "Found"?

We define this precisely so there are no disputes. A case is "Found" when we deliver any one of the following:

  • ✓Full case details — case number, parties, court, filing date, current status, next hearing date
  • ✓A copy or certified extract of the judgment or order being searched for
  • ✓A verified reference with source and location of the physical record for pre-digital cases
  • ✓A link to the case on an official court or government database

When we do NOT charge:

  • ✗Only partial information is recovered but the full case cannot be confirmed
  • ✗The case exists but the specific order or judgment requested is not retrievable
  • ✗The case does not exist — wrong court, wrong year, or incorrect details provided
  • ✗The search exceeds the 48 hour turnaround time without a result

Find My Case — FAQs

Submit what you have. At minimum we need: the court name, at least one party name, and an approximate year or decade. Even with limited information our team can often find cases. If the information is too limited to begin a meaningful search, we will contact you to discuss before any research starts.
Zero charge applies when: we cannot confirm the case exists, when we cannot retrieve the specific document requested, when only partial information is found that does not meet your stated requirement, or when our search exceeds 48 hours. In all these cases, we send a detailed report of every source we searched, and there is absolutely no charge.
Payment is only requested after the case or judgment has been found and delivered to you. You receive the case details first, confirm they meet your requirement, and then receive a payment link. There is no upfront payment, no deposit, and no charge if the case is not found.
Absolutely. Your case details and contact information are used only for research purposes and are never shared with third parties. All researchers working on your case are bound by confidentiality. Court cases are public records but your engagement with Sarth's research service is strictly private.
